girl working for pizza company VCU-CERSE is the result of a close alliance of Virginia Commonwealth University's schools of Medicine, Allied Health Professions, Engineering and Education and offers several educational opportunities for medical students, college students and rehabilitation professionals.

Rehabilitation and Neurological Illness and Injury Core is involved in a full spectrum of teaching and training activities. The Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology Division of VCU’s Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation provides a wide variety of services including inpatient and outpatient care and family support.

Rehabilitation Engineering Core also is involved in a full spectrum of teaching and training activities. The Department of Biomedical Engineering offers undergraduate and graduate degrees at the master’s and doctoral levels.

Vocational Rehabilitation Core is involved in a full spectrum of teaching, training and technical assistance activities. The Department of Rehabilitation Counseling offers graduate degrees at the master’s and doctoral levels. In addition, numerous training opportunities are conducted through the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Workplace Supports and Job Retention.

Health and Human Performance Core is involved in a full spectrum of teaching and training activities.  The Department of Health and Human Performance offers undergraduate degrees as well as graduate degrees at the master’s and doctoral levels. The Department of Occupational Therapy offers graduate degrees at the master’s level in addition to specializations in a doctoral program. The Department of Physical Therapy offers programs leading to the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.

Children and Disability Core is involved in a full spectrum of teaching, training and technical assistance activities. The Department of Special Education and Disability Policy offers undergraduate and graduate programs at the master’s and doctoral levels. In addition, numerous training opportunities are conducted through the Partnership for People with Disabilities.

Veterans Core is involved in a full spectrum of activities related to the unique rehabilitation needs of individuals who sacrificed some measure of functional ability in the service of their country.
