About usThe VCU Center for Rehabilitation Science and Engineering (VCU-CERSE) is a close partnership of the VCU Schools of Medicine, Allied Health, Engineering, Education, and the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services (DRS). The mission is to foster interdisciplinary rehabilitation research across the lifespan through careful coordination and consolidation of VCU’s significant scientific and educational capacities in the rehabilitation arena. VCU-CERSE is a comprehensive, interdisciplinary center of excellence furthering the science and serving the needs of America's warriors and heroes, children and adults with disabilities. VCU-CERSE provides physical medicine and rehabilitation services addressing the needs of America's warriors and heroes, children and adults with disabilities, and their families. It brings together VCU researchers, clinicians, rehabilitation specialists, and academicians from the Schools of Medicine, Allied Health, Education and Engineering, as well as the Hunter Holmes Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) and the Virginia Department of Rehabilitative Services.
